THE TARGET VENUE WOULD BE JAO TIM (61, JALAN SULTAN, 50000, KUALA LUMPUR). REQUIRED SUBMISSION: A3 FOLDED BROCHURE (LANDSCAPE)
THE MAKING OF A3 BROCHURES

PROJECT 2: INTEREST & OBSESSION
TO COME OUT WITH A TANGIBLE INTEREST AND OBSESSION WHICH ARE UNIQUE/ FORGOTTEN AS A SUBJECT MATTER TO PROJECT IT VISUALLY WITH GREAT IN-DEPTH RESEARCH AND DECONSTRUCT OF ITS MULTI-LAYERED DEFINITION AND CHARACTERS THOROUGHLY. INFOGRAPHIC BOARD THAT SHOWS RICH INFOR-GRAPHIC OF THE SUBJECT MATTER AND A CONCEPTUAL MODEL ARE REQUIRED.
THE MAKING OF INFOGRAPHIC BOARD & CONCEPTUAL MODEL BOARD
My chosen subject matter was Wau and we were required to conduct a thorough research about its origin, making, elements and usage to derive 3 or more main keywords in the Infographic Board. Then, we used the same keywords to form a 3D abstract model inspired by the subject matter itself. All development of sketches and proggressive exploration models by documenting them in the Conceptual Model Board.

First Board Composition Try-Out. Not approved as it was too lengthy, unattractive background and poor sizing of visuals.
.jpg)
Second Board Composition Try Out. But still do not achieve the requirement as the visuals are no popped out.
.jpg)
Third Board Composition Try-Out. First Time trying dark backrgound and rearranged the visuals in a better manner. Allowed to proceed with colour highlights.

First Try Out. Overall compostion is acceptale but the upper part is too compact.
.jpg)
Second Try Out. Lines are removed and number of sketches were reduced but overall visuals are too balanced and lack of strong focus.

Third Try-Out. Rearrangement of sketches on the bottom part and the main model background is replaced with a coloured circle background.
EXPLORATION OF CONCEPTUAL MODELS
Trying out different models with the self-interpretation of the chosen keywords: Symmetrical, Centralized and Curvilinear found from Wau, my chosen subject matter

Experimenting the bendings of Lidi (Material Used) and incorporated the keyword, symmetrical.

Structural-Wise try out model using the body shape of Wau. Twisting formed using satay sticks by sticking them in a slanted manner.

Exploring the exploded framework within the body of the wau and create an interesting break down of spaces within the vacant body shape of Wau.

As the previous models are rather flat, 3D model is explored to find out other possibilities of building the final model

Inspired by the second model, the same framework is used repetitively to form a more 3D model

Combining all the elements explored into the final approved exploration model with the 3 keywords: Symmetrical, Centralized and Curvilinear
